Hi Everyone!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and managed to spend time with your family. We didn't get snow unfortunately, but at least it's been dry so we can get out and go for walks and exercise. I hope you got everything you wished for and that most importantly, you all managed to stay safe and well.
So, by now you will know I am not coming back after Christmas - I would have obviously let you know before we broke up but with the end of term not going quite to plan with lockdown, it's going to be a goodbye online!
It's been a brilliant couple of terms with you and I have really enjoyed my time at Hilmarton; thank you all for making it so enjoyable and for making me feel so welcome. As some of you know, I teach piano two days a week and tutor and this, coupled with some really important exams coming up for my daughter, means I just needed to cut back a bit and prioritise her for the moment, which is why I had to make the decision to stop teaching at Hilmarton. But hopefully I will be back at some point to do supply so I will see you again in person! I'm going to pop in in the New Year and see you all, but this is just to say thank you for being superstars and I wish you all a Happy New Year!
Love Mrs Calthrop. xx
Welcome to Mississippi!
Hi all
Thanks for your photos and e-mails from today, it was great to see lots of lovely things going on in your homes, not just what we have set this week but also activities from last week which you didn't get to do.
Do remember that you don't have to print everything off, for example with tomorrow's work, you can just make a list of the adjectives, nouns and adverbs in your book, you can copy the word morphs and even draw half of your own picture then come back to it later and see if you can draw the other half. Maybe you could make them symmetrical? The bar chart can be drawn in your book too so you can save some ink and paper and give the printer a rest if needs be!
Please send Mrs Sandberg your work for Wednesday and Thursday so she can respond, thank you.
Have a brilliant Christmas and I hope you get to see your family and friends in your safe bubbles.
Mrs Calthrop.

Hi All
Thank you for the lovely work you have sent to me today, great Christmas alphabet ideas - did anyone have anything for q, u, w or z?
Great bauble colouring in different combinations and super calculation solving to decode the messages, well done! It was lovely to see photos of other things you have been doing - what a creative group you are!
Thanks so much for all your efforts, I'm about to upload some more things for tomorrow.
Mrs Calthrop.
The start for tomorrow is back to front but it's still fine to cut it out as it is and see if you can rearrange the pieces to fit into the star shape....once you've done it, muddle the pieces up and see if you can challenge someone in your family to see who can solve the puzzle the quickest! I wonder who will be the fastest if we did it across the class? Let me know your times!
Hi, I've added some of the handwriting we used to do which gives you a little more information about the Egyptians. You can see the coloured lines to help you position your letters correctly in your books.
Well, what another busy day lots of you have had! Thank you so much for sharing all your work today, we had photos of maths, sandwich making, comparisons between religions, facts about how they celebrate Christmas in Egypt - I found out they celebrate Christmas on January 7th!! There was some super tea staining of paper to make it look like papyrus paper and fantastic art of scarab beetles, facts about the River Nile and more English instructions work! So much is going on between you all and it's fantastic to see so many of you enjoying the work set. I think there have been lots of lucky mums and dads getting cups of tea too - I think you will all have to go on a tea rota when we are back at school!
I will still upload English each night, but from tomorrow, please make sure you e-mail Mrs Sandberg your work, thank you.
Have a great rest of the week and remember to stay safe, Mrs Calthrop.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your work today - lots of super photos of tea making, maths, cakes, handwriting, car making and walks outside; I hope you all had a great day. If you sent me an e-mail, you should have had a response now.
I'm just about to upload the work for tomorrow so keep an eye out!
Mrs Calthrop.
