Successful Coffee Morning with School Nurses - Parent Testimony

I've attended two of the coffee mornings and found both to be very useful. The first was headed up by Mrs Law and gave a useful insight into the goings on within the classroom and the school curriculum, surrounding mental well-being. The second was attended by two school nurses, who gave information about the role of the school nurse and services they provide, whilst also pointing out that they can refer you elsewhere if they can't help directly. They also answered parent questions relating to the topic 'Sleep and Anxiety' and continued to be helpful, even when the discussions went off on a slight tangent!

The coffee mornings I've attended have been friendly and informative. The recent coffee morning had the school nurses present, and ended up running like a discussion group; someone would ask a question, and whilst the nurses would offer their professional responses, the other parents were supportive in also offering suggestions or sharing their own experiences. It was a bit like therapy!... in a good way!

The coffee mornings I've attended have been like an informal chat, with a focal point for discussion. There's no pressure to 'actively participate' if you don't want to, if maybe you've only gone to receive the content and/or handouts. And the most important bit: there are biscuits!
